This page describes how to delete your NiteTale account and the personal data we hold about you. It applies to the NiteTale mobile app, published by SOFTWARE Paweł Śląski and szygiTech - Usługi IT Mateusz Szygenda. The full picture of what we collect and why is in the Privacy Policy.

1. How to request deletion

Send an email to [email protected] from the email address linked to your NiteTale account. Use the subject "Delete my account". No further text is needed.
We reply to confirm we have received the request. If the email does not come from the address on the account, we will ask you to verify that the account is yours by other means.
We delete the account and the data listed below within 30 days of the confirmed request, and we tell you when it is done.

If an option to delete the account appears inside the App, you can use it instead; it does the same thing.

2. What is deleted

your account: email address, display name and the sign-in identifier from Google or Apple;
your wishes and the records of the stories generated from them, including any story text and audio still held on our servers;
your usage counters and subscription entitlement records held by us;
the analytics identifier linking app usage events to your installation, as far as Google's tools allow us to remove it.

3. What we keep, and for how long

Billing and tax records connected to purchases, for the period required by accounting law (in Poland, five years from the end of the tax year). They contain the transaction, not your wishes or stories.
Records of a report you made about a story, if any, for up to 12 months from the report.
Anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot be linked back to you.

4. What deletion does not do

It does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it yourself in Google Play (Subscriptions) or, for a purchase made through the App Store, in your Apple account settings. Otherwise the store may keep charging you.
It does not remove stories and audio saved on your phone. They are not stored on our servers. Remove them by uninstalling the App or clearing its data in your device settings.
It does not remove data that Google or Apple hold under their own terms as the store or sign-in provider. Use their tools for that.

5. Deleting some data without closing the account

If you only want a particular wish or story removed from our servers, or your display name changed, write to [email protected] and say which. A finished story is in any case removed from our servers about 24 hours after it is ready, and wish records are kept for up to 90 days.
